The Los Angeles Angels have announced that Albert Pujols will officially miss the remainder of the season to rest his injured foot.
Pujols partially tore his left plantar fascia last month and only recently shed a walking boot. He had hoped to return, but the Angels convinced him to shut it down as their disappointing season winds down.
"It's not an easy decision, as competitive as I am," Pujols said. "But I also understand that we (need) to look beyond the season."
