Earlier today a published report stated that the Nationals are close to sending Alfonso Soriano to the White Sox. However, Nationals general manager Jim Bowden says that there is no deal in place. "All I can tell you is that we don't have a deal in place with any team at this hour on any player. That's the only comment I'm going to have," Bowden said. The White Sox are one of four teams in the mix for Soriano, with the others being the Angels, Tigers and Yankees. There also have been reports that the Dodgers and Mariners may be in the mix. The Nationals are hoping to acquire young prospects, especially pitchers, in return for Soriano.
