A.J. Burnett returned to spring training with the Pirates on Saturday, eight days after having surgery to repair a fractured orbital bone. Burnett has been cleared to resume workouts as part of a return-to-pitch progression. He rode an exercise bike and played catch for 50 throws in the bullpen. He is expected to miss two to three months. "The first few (throws) were a little hairy, I'm not going to lie," Burnett said. "But it went fine. I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm glad to be back down here with the guys."
