Barry Bonds hit his 719th homer on Saturday, a two-run shot to right-center in the first inning of the Giants' game against the Athletics. Bonds originally wasn't in the Giants' starting lineup after stealing his first base in nearly two years during Friday night's game. Bonds left the game, apparently with sore legs, after stealing second base in the eighth inning. But after manager Felipe Alou said Bonds "demanded" to play, Bonds hit a 3-0 pitch from Dan Haren more than 400 feet.
