Carlos Gonzalez will sit out Colorado's game against Milwaukee after receiving a cortisone shot in his injured right wrist on Tuesday.
Gonzalez, who was wearing a removable cast in the Rockies clubhouse on Wednesday as members of the team prepared for a voluntary workout, said he might be able to play on Friday.
He injured the wrist while crashing into the center-field wall at Coors Field on July 3, and an MRI on Monday confirmed that he sustained a deep bone bruise.
"It's not as bad as it was," said Gonzalez. "I'm getting better. We'll see how I feel after the shot [takes effect]."
