Mets third baseman David Wright wishes he could do more than just make 20 throws and take groundballs on his knees, but for now that's all he can do. Wright, who is recovering from a stress fracture in his lower back, reiterated that he will see a doctor later this week. While visiting the doctor, he hopes to gain clearance to start a rehab program down in Florida. "It's the same program we've been going through all along," Wright said. "So far we're par for the course. It's what we were supposed to do (Sunday)." Wright said his back "felt good" after Sunday's limited workout.
