Eric Gagne threw another bullpen session before Sunday's game, adding curveballs to the mix for the first time since April 7 surgery to remove a sensory nerve in his right elbow. It was Gagne's third session of approximately 20 pitches this week. Gagne is expected to pitch to hitters sometime this week and could go on a minor-league rehabilitation assignment soon, with an early-June return now likely. "We've got a little gap we have to bridge (until Gagne returns)," Little said. "We feel very confident Gagne will be back around the first week of June. This will relieve a lot of the tension we're having."
