Angels right-hander Joel Pineiro left his start with tightness in the back of his right shoulder on Sunday. He may not be ready for the start of the season. Pineiro was supposed to throw about 90 pitches, but left a minor league game against the Cubs' Triple-A team after just two innings and 35 pitches. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Pineiro still might have time to avoid the disabled list, but that he might be held back from his first scheduled start, April 5 against the Rays. "I want to get a better understanding, but I guess he just felt a little stiffness," Scioscia said, according to the Orange County Register.
