Baker Stumps For New Contract For Maddux

Greg Maddux's future was on the mind of Dusty Baker before Tuesday's game at Dodger Stadium, and the question of how long the 40-year-old right-hander can continue to pitch was put to the Cubs manager.
"At this point it's hard to imagine him not pitching forever," Baker said. "Who knows? Roger [Clemens] was [43] and had excellence, so who's to say?"
With Maddux's sizzling start, is it a no-brainer the Cubs will be discussing a contract extension at the end of the season?
"Or maybe before [the end]," Baker replied. "Who knows? It's kind of how he feels."
