The White Sox and Reds are reportedly discussing a trade involving outfielder Jermaine Dye. However, a major-league source said Sunday that any deal involving Dye and Cincinnati is complicated by financial matters. Dye will earn $11.5 million in 2009, with a mutual option for $12 million in 2010 that includes a $1 million buyout. Reds general manager Walt Jocketty confirmed that he had talked to the Sox about "some players, but nothing is close."
