Kerry Wood could rejoin the bullpen of the Cubs as early as Tuesday night, according to a report in The Chicago Tribune. He is expected to be removed from the disabled list prior to the team's game against the Astros on Tuesday night, but he will not return as the closer right away. Manager Lou Pinella claims that Wood will make at least one appearance as a middle reliever for a "tuneup". "When Woody gets ready for [closing], he's right back in his role," Piniella said. "He's done a nice job for us."
