At RealGM, we use the Field Impact Counter (FIC) to objectively measure how effective players are performing and then use the Reina Value to evaluate their financial worth. The player with the highest FIC for the season, therefore, ?deserves? the highest salary, which is Alex Rodriguez?s $28 million contract for 2008. Because Ben Sheets is currently the leader, he ?deserves? $28 million, and since he is ?actually? making $12.125 million, the difference is 131% and that becomes his Reina Value. Click here for more information about the Field Impact Counter and the Reina Value. Each player?s season FIC is listed below with his Reina Value percentage in parenthesis. 1. Lance Berkman, HOU: 188 (+93%) Berkman?s OPS for June is at .845, a .564 drop from his May outburst. 2. Chase Utley, PHI: 155 (+201%) Utley is one homer shy of matching his 2007 total of 22. 3. Albert Pujols, STL: 155 (+56%) It looks like Pujols will hit the disabled list with an OP of 1.105. 4. Chipper Jones, ATL: 145 (+53%) Jones is batting .478 during the month of June, which is a nice way to keep plowing along to a .400 season. 5. Nate McLouth, PIT: 136 (+4,277%) McLouth is beginning his long descent back down to reality, hitting .235/.350/.382 in June. 6. Brandon Webb, ARI: 131 (+211%) Webb is 11-2 and yielding a .547 OPS, which is down significantly from his career mark of .652. 7. Josh Hamilton, TEX: 128 (+4,180%) Hamilton is 7th in the AL in batting at .309, which like Belmont was to Big Brown, will give him the most problems. 8. Milton Bradley, TEX: 122 (+216%) Bradley is the one currently leading the AL in batting average, but more impressively he leads in both slugging (.638) and OBP (.455). With Hamilton and Bradley doing so well, Jon Daniels is a shining graduate of the Jerry Jones school of giving uber-talented guys second chances. 9. Carlos Zambrano, CHC: 106 (-5%) Zambrano has a 7.71 ERA during the month of June over 11.2 innings. 23. Ben Sheets, MIL: 106 (+25%) Sheets continues to give up too many extra base hits, but he has still been effective. 24.
