Rumors circulated on Tuesday that the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox were in talks on a trade involving Jose Quintana and David Robertson.

A source told MLB.com that talks between the two clubs haven't advanced very far and the New York Post reported that Robertson wasn't involved in the talks either.

Coming off a season in which he set the AL record for home runs by a second baseman, Brian Dozier has been the center of trade talks since the Winter Meetings. The Dodgers have been in talks with the Twins to try and acquire his services, but Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News in Minnesota reports Los Angeles is not alone.

The Cardinals have joined the Dodgers as a team that is "very much" in the running to land Dozier, according to Wolfson, who added the Nationals and Giants also "remain in dialogue" with the Twins.

The Blue Jays have “kicked around” Andrew McCutchen’s name as they attempt to address their outfield, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reports (all Twitter links). Pirates GM Neal Huntington recently said the team was likely to keep McCutchen after trade negotiations with the Nationals fell through. But, Crasnick writes, the Jays are one of several teams who are still interested in the Pirates’ star.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have "worked hard" to complete a trade with the Chicago White Sox for Jose Quintana, according to a report.

The White Sox are rebuilding this offseason having dealt Chris Sale and Adam Eaton.

Quintana, who turns 28 in January, is due $15.85 million over the next two seasons with club options for 2019 ($10.5 million) and '20 ($11.5 million).

Talks between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins on a Brian Dozier trade haven't progressed, according to a report.

It had been reported that the two sides agreed on Jose De Leon as the centerpiece of a possible deal, but they are still "at a standstill ... if not an impasse."

The Boston Red Sox have traded Clay Buchholz to the Philadelphia Phillies for minor league second baseman Josh Tobias.

The Red Sox picked up their $13.5 million option on Buchholz's contract at the end of last season, but the possibility of a trade always seemed present.

After Boston acquired Chris Sale, it was rumored that they would deal Buchholz or Drew Pomeranz.

The New York Mets are at least looking into the possibility of trading for a center fielder.

Ken Rosenthal described the Mets as being "semi-engaged" in talks for a variety of possibilities.

Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates has been mentioned as a possibility, but talks haven't gotten serious.

The New York Yankees haven't yet added to their starting rotation, but they remain interested in a trade for Jose Quintana.

The Yankees have enough depth in their farm system to swing a deal for Quintana if the two sides can agree on the base of a deal.

However, the seriousness of New York's interest remains to be seen. Brian Cashman has pointed out that he has reached out to virtually every team at some point this offseason.

The Atlanta Braves are very impressed with Dansby Swanson's on-field talent and off-field intangibles.

"I don't think you can put any playables or comparisons on him, I just know we're better with him, and the whole is greater than the parts. This is a special guy that makes people around him better," John Coppolella said.

The Chicago White Sox reportedly wanted Swanson as part of a deal for Chris Sale, but the Braves refused to part with the former first overall pick.

The Philadelphia Phillies would like to add another hitter or reliever, according to Matt Klentak.

Klentak added that neither move is a necessity.

If the Phillies add a hitter, it would likely be a reserve outfielder.

"We continue to prioritize roster flexibility and payroll flexibility so players that are in position to sign shorter term contracts are going to be more appealing to us," Klentak said.
