Ricciardi Hints Halladay Might Be Dealt
Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi commented on rumors that the team could shop Roy Halladay at midseason recently. "We're still the same on that topic. If our ownership says, 'Hey, listen, our payroll next year can't be what it can be this year,' we'd have to exhaust every possible avenue before we go down that road," Ricciardi said. "That's not what we're looking to do." Halladay's contract has a full no-trade clause.

The Tigers have experienced a steep decline in their season-ticket sales, which could prompt the team to hold a midseason fire sale. The Detroit Free-Press has reported that the team's ticket sales have dropped from 27,000 to roughly 15,000. The Tigers have a $125 million payroll, only increasing rumors that they'll look to ship out some of their high-priced talent.
