Tigers Player Under Investigation

Prosecutors plan to review a request for charges against a 28-year-old Detroit Tigers player following a sexual assault complaint.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office said has received a warrant request from police and a charging decision isn't expected this week.

In April, The Associated Press and others reported 28-year-old right-hander Evan Reed was facing a sexual assault complaint.

Babe Ruth's Watch Sells For $650,108

A gold pocket watch owned by Babe Ruth has sold for $650,108 at an auction in Southern California, according to an ESPN.com report.

SCP Auctions said Sunday that the watch was from the 25th anniversary celebration in 1948 of the opening of Yankee Stadium.

Katz Denies Interest In Selling Share Of Mets

Saul Katz has expressed interest in selling his share of the New York Mets because of the repeated need to infuse the team with cash, according to a New York Times report.

The Wilpon-Katz family currently controls a majority share of the club. Katz is believed to be leery of parting with his share which would allow other investors to gain a majority.

Katz strongly denied the report in a statement.

"I have no intention of selling my share of the Mets nor have I ever had any intention of selling my share," the statement read.

Matt Williams Witnesses Police Chase During Interview

Nationals manager Matt Williams witnessed a police chase while conducting a radio interview on his way to Nationals Park on Wednesday, according to an ESPN.com report. 

Williams' interview with 106.7 The Fan was interrupted when his car was rear-ended by another vehicle, which crashed into several other cars in an attempt to evade police pursuit.

"He just ran right in the back of me," Williams said. "I just got rear-ended by a guy in a car. Hold on, this guy's crashing into people."

Angels Discuss Potential Ballpark In Irvine

The Los Angeles Angels have met with a developer to see whether the construction of a new ballpark is possible on  Orange County Great Park property in Irvine.

The club is frustrated by talks with Anaheim over plans to keep the team at Angel Stadium. Angels executives have opened discussions for potential alternative sites in Tustin and now Irvine.
