Fernando Tatis, Jr. Suffers Hamstring Injury

Apr 29, 2019 7:54 AM

Fernando Tatis, Jr. left Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals after doing an awkward-looking split while trying to stretch for a throw at second base.

Tatis was unable to keep his foot on the bag on the play.

Andy Green said after the game that the San Diego Padres shortstop suffered a hamstring injury. Green said it was uncertain how much time, if any, Tatis Jr. would miss with his injury.

"I think everyone saw what happened on the field," Green said. "So we are hoping he is OK. We'll find out in time here. He seems in pretty good spirits right now. We'll find out how severe, how mild it is here very shortly."

Carlos Carrasco Leaves Start With Left Knee Discomfort

Apr 25, 2019 8:31 AM

Carlos Carrasco was pulled after four innings Tuesday night with what the Cleveland Indians called left knee discomfort.

Terry Francona said Carrasco was taken for a precautionary MRI.

Carrasco got hurt when he stumbled and fell while covering first base in the fourth inning against the Miami Marlins.

"He kind of bruised it. He fell on it, but he initially felt it in the back," Francona said. "So that's why the medical people felt like let's just rule everything out. Hopefully it's just being precautionary, but we do want to get him checked out."

Aaron Judge Will Be 'Down For A While'

Apr 23, 2019 8:05 AM

The New York Yankees won't be getting Aaron Judge back from a strained left oblique anytime soon.

Judge, who suffered the injury on Saturday, will take longer than two weeks to recover.

"We're not going to be able to put a timetable on it," Brian Cashman said. "He does have a significant injury, so he's going to be down for a while. A while would be past that two-week timeframe, but in terms of trying to frame it and what it's going to be, I think we'll get a better feel for this thing as we move forward."

The 26-year-old is hitting .288/.404/.521 with five home runs and 11 RBI this season.
