Rosario Changes Teams For Fifth Time Since Oct. 17

Sandy Rosario has changed teams for the fifth time since Oct. 17.

Rosario, a 27-year-old right-hander, has spent the better part of nine seasons in the minors.

Here is his travel log:

• Selected off waivers by the Red Sox from the Marlins on Oct. 17.
• Traded to A's by the Red Sox in exchange for a player to be named later (Graham Godfrey) on Nov. 28
• Selected off waivers by the Red Sox from the A's on Dec. 10.
• Selected off waivers by the Cubs from the Red Sox on Dec. 12.
• Selected off waivers by the Giants from the Cubs on Dec. 21.

Giants Agree To Deal With Santiago Casilla

The Giants agreed to terms on a three-year deal with right-hander Santiago Casilla on Monday. Casilla, who saved 25 games last season, was entering his final season of arbitration.

The deal includes a club-vesting option for a fourth year and is pending a physical. The Associated Press reports the deal is for $15M over three years.

The Giants have agreed to a one-year deal with Andres Torres, pending a physical.

Torres spent three seasons with the Giants before they traded him to the Mets last December to acquire center fielder Angel Pagan.

Pagan re-signed with the Giants for four years and $40 million earlier this offseason.

According to a baseball source, the Red Sox are one of four teams interested in Nick Swisher.

Boston views Swisher as a fallback plan should they not lure Josh Hamilton.

Along with the Red Sox, the Giants, Yankees and Indians have all reportedly expressed interest in Swisher.

Swisher is believed to be seeking a five or six-year deal and the contract could reach $60 million in value, according to industry sources.

Average Salary Hits Record $3.2M

Major League Baseball's average salary increased 3.8 percent this year to a record $3.2 million.

According to final figures released Friday by the Major League Baseball Players Association, the rise was the steepest since 2007.

The boost was helped by an increase in the minimum salary from $414,000 to $480,000.

It was reported earlier Wednesday that Cleveland was pursuing him after missing on Shane Victorino, but the Red Sox and Mariners are also interested.

The Giants have agreed to re-sign Marco Scutaro to a three-year, $20 million deal.

The contract is pending a physical.

Prior to the agreement, Scutaro had a two-year offer from San Francisco with a vesting option.

Scutaro, the NLCS MVP, hit .362 with three homers and 44 RBIs in 61 games with the Giants after he was acquired in a July 27 trade with Colorado.
