Vlad Jr., Josh Bell, Carlos Santana Fill Last Three HR Derby Spots

Blue Jays rookie star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will become the youngest player in major league history to compete in the Home Run Derby.

Major League Baseball confirmed Sunday that Guerrero, Pirates first baseman Josh Bell and Indians first baseman Carlos Santana will participate in the midseason power showcase, filling three spots in the eight-player field.

Josh Donaldson Wins Appeal

Braves third baseman Josh Donaldson won his appeal and will not be suspended after a benches-clearing incident with the Pirates, a source told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

His fine for the incident was also reduced to $1,000, the source said.

The Milwaukee Brewers topped their crowd-pleasing Christian Yelich bobblehead giveaway with another surprise gift, thanks to Mike Moustakas.

Moustakas launched a homer that won a new SUV for a fan, Yelich hit his major-league-leading 24th home run, and the Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 on Sunday for a three-game sweep.

"That homer won us the game and somebody a car, which is pretty cool," Yelich said.

Josh Bell's 94 Total Bases Most In May Since Willie Mays In '58

Josh Bell finished off his historic May with two more hits, giving him 94 total bases in May, the most by any player in May since Willie Mays (102) in 1958.

Bell went 2-for-5 and drove in a run to help the Pittsburgh Pirates pounce on struggling Milwaukee starter Jhoulys Chacin in a 9-4 victory Friday night.

His 94 total bases in May is the most by any player in any month in the Pirates' 138-year history.
