Oct 29, 2018 9:38 AM

Clayton Kershaw has three days to decide whether to opt into the remainder of his contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which would pay him $65 million over the next two years.

"I haven't made the decision yet," he said. "We have three days to talk, between us and the Dodgers, see what happens. And then we'll go from there."

Kershaw gave up four runs over seven innings in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night.

Dave Roberts Explains Pulling Rich Hill

Oct 28, 2018 12:25 PM

The Dodgers saw a four-run lead turn into a five-run deficit in the final three innings of Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday night, leading to a 9-6 loss and an overwhelming 3-1 series deficit to the Boston Red Sox.

The sudden collapse was ignited by the questionable decision to remove starting pitcher Rich Hill, who had given up one hit through the first six innings. That decision stemmed from a preliminary conversation during which Hill expressed concern that he might not be able to hold up much longer, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Oct 27, 2018 5:56 PM

The Red Sox will turn to left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez to start Game 4 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium on Saturday.

Nathan Eovaldi had been scheduled to start, but he was called in to pitch six-plus innings of relief as Friday's Game 3 stretched to 18 innings before the Dodgers won 3-2 on Max Muncy's walk-off homer.

Rodriguez pitched one-third of an inning in Game 3, coming on for starter Rick Porcello with two outs in the fifth inning and striking out Joc Pederson on six pitches.

Dodgers Win Historical Game 3 In 18 Innings

Oct 27, 2018 2:16 PM

The longest game in World Series history ended after 18 innings and 7 hours, 20 minutes.

Max Muncy was the hero, leading off the bottom of the 18th and swatting a 3-2 pitch from Nathan Eovaldi over the fence in left-center with but a few inches to spare. It gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 3-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox and maybe saved their season: No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the World Series.
