The Los Angeles Dodgers want the draft pick they would get if Howie Kendrick signs elsewhere much more than they want to bring back Kendrick.

Receiving draft pick compensation for Kendrick would give Los Angeles four draft picks before the start of the second round. However, they will not receive a pick if the infielder doesn't sign before June's draft.
