Ramirez was set to arrive in Boston on Monday to finalize terms of the deal, according to the report.

Multiple outlets earlier reported it was unclear whether the club was planning to sign Ramirez as a third base consolation prize, should the Pablo Sandoval deal fall through, or in addition to a deal with the Giants' star.

Haren Would Rather Retire Than Pitch Outside LA

Nov 20, 2014 2:44 PM

Dan Haren says he would likely walk away from baseball if the Los Angeles Dodgers trade him to a team other than the Los Angeles Angels.

Haren would be leaving $10 million in pretax income on the table if he retires.

The right-hander's 2015 option with the Dodgers kicked in when he reached the 180-innings mark in September.

"My signing with the Dodgers last year and my decision to exercise my player option were based on my desire to play in Southern California near my family," Haren said. "I had other opportunities, but at this point in my career, I have no interest in playing in a city away from my family."

Kershaw First NL Pitcher Since 1968 To Win MVP, Cy Young

Nov 14, 2014 7:30 AM

Clayton Kershaw is the first National League pitcher to win both the Cy Young and MVP awards since Bob Gibson did so in 1968.

The Dodgers left-hander beat out Giancarlo Stanton and Andrew McCutchen for MVP honors on Thursday night.

"You know you're a finalist, but I guess I never really anticipated to win that, especially when you're associated with guys like and Andrew and Giancarlo," Kershaw said. "To say you're MVP, I don't know if I could ever get used to that, but it's obviously a huge honor."
