Source: Greinke Meets With Dodgers, Angels

Zack Greinke had face-to-face meetings with the Dodgers and Angels this week, according to a source.

Greinke met with the Dodgers on Thursday, but it isn't known exactly when he sat down with the Angels, who acquired him at midseason in a trade with the Brewers.

The Rangers and Nationals are also believed to be pursuing Greinke.

Rangers 'Loom' As Threat To Sign Greinke

Zack Greinke is expected to flirt with the richest contract ever for a right-hander as a free agent this offseason.

Matt Cain currently holds that honor, having signed a $127.5 million deal with the Giants in Spring Training.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports lists the Angels and Dodgers as the main competition for Greinke, but also says the Rangers "loom as another threat in the Greinke market."

Greinke's Camp Confident He'll Surpass Hamels' Deal

Those around Zack Greinke are confident that the free agent will soon become the highest-paid right-hander in baseball history.

His camp believes it's even possible that he could receive more than Cole Hamels, a left-hander, did from Philadelphia earlier this year. Hamels agreed to a six-year, $144 million extension.

CC Sabathia received the largest contract ever for a pitcher when he signed a seven-year, $161 million deal with the Yankees in 2008.

Those who agreed to terms were right-handed pitchers Gregory Infante, Hector Correa, Kelvin De La Cruz, Juan Abreu and catcher Wilkin Castillo.

Dodgers Reportedly Meet With Japanese Closer

He has reportedly also met with the Angels, Diamondbacks, Cubs and Orioles.

Kuroda's two daughters are attending elementary school in Southern California.

He turned down New York's one-year qualifying offer of $13.3 million.
