McCourt Opposes Wife's Return To Team
Dodgers owner Frank McCourt filed papers on Wednesday opposing his wife's demand to be reinstated as the team's chief executive. He cited insubordination and an affair she allegedly had with her bodyguard. McCourt filed the paperwork one day after Jamie McCourt filed divorce papers seeking to regain her $2 million-a-year job.
Sources: Mattingly Talking With Dodgers About Future Plans
Don Mattingly has been talking to the Dodgers since they were eliminated by the Phillies in the NLCS, according to sources. They will have more conversations later this week. Mattingly, who was a candidate for the position Manny Acta got in Cleveland, has made it clear that he wasn't to manage. He is currently the team's hitting coach. Joe Torre has no plans to manager Los Angeles past the 2010 season.
MLB Monitoring McCourt Fight For Dodgers
Major League Baseball is monitoring the fight between Frank McCourt and his wife Jamie for control of the Dodgers. The pair, who are in the process of a divorce, are expected to take their fight for the team to court this week. "Obviously, there's a disruption there," Bob DuPuy, president and chief operating officer of Major League Baseball, told the Los Angeles Times. "The team is being operated just fine." The commissioner's office is not encouraging the McCourts to consider selling the team. "That has never been discussed," DuPuy said.
Colletti: McCourt Issues Not Affecting Dodgers
Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti says that owner Frank McCourt's personal issues aren't affecting the team. McCourt fired his wife as CEO of the club. No formal divorces papers have been filed. Colletti added that he doesn't anticipate any cutbacks in resources as he tries to mold the team for next season. "I have no inclination that anything will change from how the Los Angeles Dodgers do business," he said. "There hasn't been any change in how we do business in the last few weeks or months."

"I'm not one to look too far into the future," the GM added. "I can tell you I was never worried if I would be here or not. I would be someplace. I was never worried about that.
