Nov 24, 2014 8:29 PM

The Royals have signed right-hander Zach Miner to a Minor League contract. Miner, 28, who has spent four years in the Majors, all with the Tigers, missed the entire 2010 season with a right elbow injury. A fourth-round selection by the Braves in the 2000 First-Year Player Draft, was shipped to Detroit in 2005 in a deal that sent reliever Kyle Farnsworth to Atlanta.

Soria Won't Block Trade To Yankees

Jul 5, 2014 11:25 PM

Joakim Soria wouldn't block a trade to the Yankees if the Royals changed their stance of moving him. In an interview with the Mexican paper Vanguard, Soria said he doesn't give much weight to the no-trade clause in his contract, which reportedly allows him to block trades to the Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Phillies, Cardinals, and Cubs. "I didn't put it there, my agent did, as a strategy," Soria said. "But if the Royals decide to trade me to New York I would gladly go to play with the Yankees or any other team... I repeat, I would not block a trade to the Yankees. I like to play baseball and I would play with any team."

Sep 25, 2014 2:44 PM

The Nationals had a deal in place to acquire Zack Greinke, but the right-hander vetoed the deal, according to a baseball source. Instead, the Royals traded Greinke to the Brewers for prospects, a deal Greinke was willing to accept. No reason was given as to why Greinke turned down the deal with Washington, but he made it clear this past season that he would like to play for a team that wins on a consistent basis.
