The Braves have placed outfielder Matt Kemp on the 10-day disabled list after he strained his right hamstring during Friday's game.

Kemp suffered the injury running the bases in the fourth inning of Atlanta's loss to the Phillies. He was thrown out at second base and then removed from the game in between innings.

The 32-year-old is hitting .290 this season with 14 home runs and 48 RBIs.

The Atlanta Braves plan to demote Dansby Swanson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday, according to a report.

The slumping rookie is hitting .213/.287/.312 this season.

Swanson, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft, made his Major League debut in 2016 and hit .302 with three homers and 17 RBIs in 38 games last season.

The Atlanta Braves have traded Jaime Garcia to the Minnesota Twins for minor league right-hander Huascar Ynoa.

Atlanta also sent catcher Anthony Recker and cash considerations to Minnesota as part of the trade.

The Braves have also agreed to pay the remaining $4.6 million on Garcia's contract, according to a report.

The Twins will start Garcia on Friday night at the Oakland Athletics.

Atlanta would receive a Minor League player in the swap.

Garcia has a 4.33 ERA in 17 starts this season. He is making $12 million.
