Astros Send Four Prospects To D-Backs For Zack Grienke

The Astros made the biggest move of Wednesday's trade deadline, acquiring right-hander Zack Greinke from the Diamondbacks for four prospects.

Greinke joins a rotation that includes Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole.

Houston sent right-hander Corbin Martin, right-hander J.B. Bukauskas, first baseman Seth Beer and infielder Josh Rojas to Arizona to complete the deal.

The D-backs have agreed to a deal for right-hander Zac Gallen, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. Miami is set to acquire Arizona's No. 1-ranked prospect, Jazz Chisholm. The clubs have not confirmed.

Gallen, who is the the Marlins' No. 5-ranked prospect, is 1-3 with a 2.72 ERA in seven starts this season.

The New York Yankees are looking for pitching and have been in touch with the Arizona Diamondbacks about Robbie Ray, according to a report.

Ray, 27, has a a 3.95 ERA and 31 percent strikeout rate in 22 starts this season.

The Yankees' starting rotation entered Tuesday with a 4.26 ERA (13th in baseball).

The 27-year-old has a 3.81 ERA with a 2.59 K/BB ratio in 111 inning (20 starts) for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Ray is owed the balance of a $6.05 million salary for this season. He's third-year arbitration-eligible going into the 2020 season.
