Arizona's Offseason Plans Nearly Complete
The Diamondbacks' offseason revamping is nearly complete, according to the Arizona Republic. They've signed a closer in J.J. Putz, traded third baseman Mark Reynolds, let first baseman Adam LaRoche walk and added some other pieces for the bullpen and bench.
Arizona Sells Ryal To Yomiuri Giants
The Arizona Diamondbacks sold the contract of infielder/outfielder Rusty Ryal to the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball League on Thursday. Over parts of two seasons in the big leagues, the utilityman is a .263 hitter with six homers 20 RBI in 134 games, all with Arizona.
D-Backs Sign Nady, Blanco
The Diamondbacks signed Xavier Nady and Henry Blanco on Friday. Nady appealed to GM Kevin Towers because of his ability to play both left field and first base, two spots where the team needed depth.
Nady Gets $1.75M Deal From D-Backs
The Diamondbacks have agreed on a one-year, $1.75 million deal with outfielder Xavier Nady, according to numerous reports. Nady hit .256 with an OPS of .660 in 119 games for the Cubs in 2010.
D-Backs No Longer Dangling Upton
The Diamondbacks are no longer looking to trade outfielder Justin Upton, according to a source. Trade talks involving Upton have "just about died," the source said. Two dozens teams checked on the availability of Upton in recent weeks, but Arizona was looking for a huge package in return.
Arizona Will Add Putz To Bullpen
The Diamondbacks have agreed to a two-year deal with reliever J.J. Putz, according to multiple reports. The deal will also feature a third-year player option and could be finalized on Tuesday. Putz appeared in 60 games in 2010 and closed out the season with a 7-5 record while recording three saves and a 2.83 ERA as a setup man for the White Sox.
D-Backs, Mora Agree To Two-Year Deal
The Diamondbacks have agreed to a two-year, $4 million deal with free-agent infielder Melvin Mora, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Mora hit .285 with seven home runs and 45 RBI for Colorado in 2010.

The Diamondbacks are focused on improving their bullpen and The Arizona Republic reports that J.J. Putz, Brian Fuentes and Bobby Jenks are likely targets. Arizona is looking to add multiple relievers, including a closer, after having the league's worst bullpen in 2010.
