On the same day that Congress asked the Justice Department to investigate whether Miguel Tejada lied to a house committee investigating steroids in baseball, word came out that the brother of the Houston Astros' shortstop was killed in an automobile accident. Freddy Manuel Tejada, 37, died Tuesday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a sport utility vehicle in Bani, a city in the southern part of the Dominican Republic. According to Melquiades Arias, a Bani police official, an unnamed woman with Tejada was injured in the collision and is in critical condition. She was transported to a hospital in Santo Domingo after receiving treatment at a local clinic. "It is confirmed that Mr. Tejada died in this accident," Arias said.
