The Giants will have to cut a player or put one on the disabled list when center fielder Randy Winn joins the team at home Tuesday. Although Jason Ellison still has minor-league options, he is not likely to be sent down. That means Marquis Grissom's job is at risk, and he is prepared for the worst. Asked if he was worried about being released, Grissom said, "Not one single bit. My future lies within myself, not with this team or any other organization in baseball. It's just a matter of how bad I want to do something. " In other words, if the chronically injured outfielder can't play for San Francisco, he will try to find another major-league job. He called himself "a small company working for a big company" and declared he is not sitting around playing general manager. "It's cool. Whatever," Grissom said. "I've got nothing against anybody. I'm just trying to get myself healthy and ready to play. Today I'm playing right field. If this were softball, I'd play in right-center."
