Mark Redman hasn't been able to get a contract extension from the Pirates, but he'd explore signing one with the team that acquires him before the Sunday non-waiver trading deadline. And it's almost a certainty that Redman will be gone before that date. "If it was a team I wanted to continue to play for," Redman said Monday afternoon, when asked if he'd continue pursuing an extension. "I'd like to stick around and keep from moving from place to place. If the team has good potential, I fit in the rotation and I could help them out, I'd consider it." The Florida Marlins would appear to fit that criteria. Redman went 14-9 with the Marlins in 2003, his lone season in the National League prior to his arrival in Pittsburgh this year.
