The Boston Red Sox have agreed to a contract extension with outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela, according to reports.

Rafaela, who has appeared in just 38 Major League games, receives an eight-year, $50 million deal. Pending a physical, he'll be tied to the Red Sox through the 2031 season.

Rafaela won the starting job in center field in spring training but can also play shortstop.
