The Los Angeles Dodgers are moving Mookie Betts to shortstop and Gavin Lux to second base.

Dave Roberts said the move is "permanent for now."

Betts played 16 games at shortstop last season. Lux had throwing issues earlier this spring, which influenced the decision.

Betts began his pro career as a middle infielder with the Boston Red Sox before moving to the outfield in deference to Dustin Pedroia and Xander Bogaerts.
