The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed manager Torey Lovullo to a contract extension.

Lovullo was under contract through the 2024 season, but the Arizona Republic reports that the new pact ties him to the franchise through 2026.

"It's great to have the long-term contracts, right? Everybody wants that," Lovullo said. "Do I deserve that? I don't know. I don't know. I feel like I've got to prove myself every single day to people. That's how I was raised. You honor what they give you and then at the end of the day, if they want you back, then you honor that too."

The 58-year-old joined the Diamondbacks prior to the 2017 season.
