Joey Votto posted a video on social media Sunday thanking the people of Cincinnati, one day after his 17-year career with the Reds apparently came to an end.

In a video posted on X on Sunday morning, the first baseman said that "if this is the last time I'll play as a Cincinnati Red, I want to speak out loud my gratitude."

The team announced Saturday it declined to pick up the $20 million option on his contract for 2024, making him a free agent for the first time in his career.
