Carl Pavano will be the Yankees' opening-day starter. Pavano hasn't pitched in the majors since June 2005 due to a variety of injuries. He will be followed in the rotation by Andy Pettitte, Mike Mussina and Kei Igawa. The fifth starter spot has not been filled. New York manager Joe Torre made the announcement Friday.
