Xavier Nady was admitted to an area hospital Tuesday evening with what Pirates officials called a stomach ailment. Manatee County Hospital confirmed that Nady, 28, had indeed checked in Tuesday and was still assigned to a room as of Thursday morning. Nady was heard joking around with teammate Jason Bay on Tuesday morning about "going to get a CAT scan" before workouts that day, but when asked about it later on, said he was simply going to have bloodwork done, routine for players at the beginning of Spring Training. The outfielder/first baseman underwent an emergency appendectomy on May 30 last season, while he was with the Mets, and missed 18 games.
