Edgardo Alfonzo and Marquis Grissom, who have both been on the disabled list since June 14 with leg injuries, are both tentatively scheduled to begin rehabilitation assignments with Triple-A Fresno early this week. Trainer Stan Conte said the "very tentative" plan as of Sunday was for Grissom, who's been out with a partially torn left hamstring, to play center field Tuesday and serve as the designated hitter Wednesday, while Alfonzo, who's been rehabbing a left quadriceps strain and a stiff neck, would DH Monday and Tuesday and play third base Wednesday. While Alfonzo is expected to join Fresno on Monday unless his neck stiffens up again, Grissom's plan is contingent on him successfully completing a final workout at SBC Park on Monday. Grissom, who was also on the DL May 20-June 3 with a right knee contusion, worked out for Conte on Saturday and Sunday with encouraging results. "I'm pretty pleased with where he's at," Conte said. "He ran the bases today, and we're going to give him one more day to make sure he's OK."
