Aaron Boone pulled James Paxton in the third inning in Game 2 of the ALCS on Sunday night despite the left-hander allowing a single run.

The Houston Astros had four hits and two walks against the New York Yankees' starter. Afterward, Boone dismissed the possibility that Paxton was tipping his pitches at Minute Maid Park.

"I don't think so," Boone said. "We're pretty vigilant on that stuff."

Paxton agreed and said, "I don't think they were getting anything."

The Astros picked up that Paxton was tipping his pitches on April 10 and they pounded him for five runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings. The left-hander changed his hand placement in his next start on April 16 against the Boston Red Sox.
