The Chicago White Sox have agreed to sign Eloy Jimenez to a six-year, $43 million contract that includes two club options. If exercised, they will bump the sum of Jimenez's deal to $77 million

Jimenez has yet to play a game in the majors and is a top-5 overall prospect. The White Sox acquired Jimenez from the Chicago Cubs in 2017 for Jose Quintana.

Jimenez was slated to begin the season at Triple-A, but now almost certain to begin the season with the White Sox.

Jimenez's guarantee of $43 million nearly doubles the deal Scott Kingery signed last year with the Phillies under the same circumstances.
