Major League Baseball suspended A.J. Hinch for one spring training game after he was ejected from a recent game and called umpire Angel Hernandez "unprofessional" and "arrogant" afterward.

Hinch served the suspension on Sunday when the Houston Astros faced the Atlanta Braves.

"The fact that he wanted to throw me out in a spring training game is pretty ridiculous," Hinch said after being tossed one pitch into the bottom of the first inning. "He's known for overreaction a little bit."

Hinch's postgame comments angered Hernandez.

"He said that? Write it," Hernandez said before adding, "No comment. He got ejected for arguing balls and strikes. That's it."

Hinch said about a week ago Hernandez admitted to him that he gets about four ball-strike calls wrong per game.
