Bob Melvin and Brian Snitker have been named Manager of the Year in the American and National League, respectively.

Melvin led the Oakland Athletics to a 97-65 record and their first playoff berth in four years despite having the lowest Opening Day payroll in baseball. He received 18 first-place votes, 19 seconds and one third for 121 points from the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Snitker led the Atlanta Braves to their first division title and playoff berth in five years. With 17 first-place votes, he was the only manager to appear on every ballot.
