Sergio Romo will start Saturday's game for the Tampa Bay Rays against the Los Angeles Angels.

It will be the first start of Romo's Major League career. He has 588 appearances as a reliever.

Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough is expected to pitch, just not to begin the game.

"The thought process is fairly obvious," Kevin Cash said. "They are a heavy stacked right-handed lineup. Now, they can obviously change that, but a couple of their guys aren't going to move no matter who's pitching. So, if Romo can get through an inning or two, we'll see where we are at and probably give the ball to Yarbrough."
