Eric Thames tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb and will likely need surgery.

The Milwaukee Brewers would be without Thames for 6-8 weeks.

"Personally, I feel like I let everybody down, but it's nothing I can control," he said. "I saw on [television] that I'll be out 6-8 weeks, so I guess that's what it is. It all depends on when the surgery is."

Thames is hitting .250/.351/.625 with seven home runs in 22 games.
