Jarlin Garcia made his first career start for the Miami Marlins on Wednesday after 70 relief appearances.

Garcia struck out three over six no-hit innings, needing only 77 pitches to do so.

Don Mattingly pulled Garcia despite the no-hit bid, presumably due to his pitch count. Prior to the game, Mattingly said Garcia was good for as many as 90 pitches.

"After (90 pitches)," Mattingly had said, "it will depend on what type of game he's having. But he could go 105 or 110 pitches if he needed."
