Ryan Braun has reported to Spring Training and is ready to take ground balls at first base for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Moving Braun to first base became an option for the Brewers when they acquired Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich in January. After a logjam was created in the outfield, David Stearns and Craig Counsell approached Braun about playing first base.

"I don't know exactly what the plan is yet as far as how often I'll be at what position, but it's definitely something I'm looking forward to," Braun said. "If I can be more versatile, it's something that should help our team in a lot of different ways."

He hasn't played the infield since 2007, his rookie season. Braun hit .324 with a league-leading .619 slugging percentage, but he committed 26 errors at third base and moved to left field the following season.
