All nine of the Major League players that received a one-year, $17.4 million qualifying offer rejected it by Thursday's deadline.

The offer ensures the player's incumbent team will receive a compensatory draft pick should they sign elsewhere.

Only five players have accepted the offer since the system was put in place after the 2012 season.

The Kansas City Royals extended the offer to Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain, while the Chicago Cubs made the offer to Jake Arrieta and Wade Davis. Alex Cobb (Tampa Bay Rays), Greg Holland (Colorado Rockies), Lance Lynn (St. Louis Cardinals) and Carlos Santana (Cleveland Indians) also were offered $17.4 million.
