Carlos Rodon will pitch in his first competitive game since mid-March when he begins a rehab assignment with Class-A Winston-Salem on Tuesday.

The Chicago White Sox's No. 2 starter has spent his last two months in Arizona recovering from left biceps bursitis.

"It's good news for us," Rick Renteria said. "Good for him. We'll see how that proceeds, and hopefully it's something positive."

Rodon has pitched in simulated games since mid-May, including a five-inning outing Thursday, but he hasn't pitched in a real game since his only spring training start March 19.
