The Boston Red Sox plan to meet with David Price on Thursday to determine the next step for the left-hander after he allowed six runs (three earned) in less than four innings for Triple-A Pawtucket.

John Farrell said a scout liked what he saw from Price, but the next step hasn't yet been determined.

"We have to sit with him and talk about what's best for him, what's best for us, going forward," Farrell said.

Price was making his second rehab start as he recovers from an elbow injury. He threw 89 pitches before being lifted with two outs in the fourth inning.

He left the stadium without speaking to the media, according to Pawtucket officials.
