Marlins pitcher Jeff Locke is likely to miss at least the first month of the season as he recovers from biceps tendinitis, according to manager Don Mattingly.

Locke threw off a mound Saturday morning for the first time in more than a month, showing progress from an injury suffered at the start of spring training.

"I don't know what we'll do next, but for today it was good," Locke told reporters of the session, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "I feel a lot better than I was feeling before, that's for sure."
