The Boston Red Sox received good news when they determined that David Price won't require surgery on his sore left elbow, but he is still expected to begin the season on the disabled list.

Price has resumed playing catch, but there isn't enough time remaining this spring to get him ready for Opening Day.

"I think at this point, yeah, it'd be hard to see him ready to go at the start of the season," John Farrell said. "You know, we really won't have any kind of idea until he gets on the mound the first time. And right now I don't know when that's gonna be."
